Friends Of Dover Road
The ‘Friends of Dover Road’ was formed over 20 years ago. Parents/Carers are automatically members once their children start at the school, and may continue their involvement for many years after their children have left.
We became a registered charity in 1993, and our aim is to raise money to provide extra amenities for the children of the school, not normally provided by the local authority. We have an elected committee of parents, carers and friends who are joined by teacher representatives. We meet regularly to organise major fundraising and fun social events including, the Summer Fayre, Indulgence Evening, School Discos, Secret Present afternoons for Mother’s and Father’s Day, plus many more.
The money raised is used to subsidies swimming lessons for the children. We have restocked the school library, provided sports equipment for organised lunchtime activities and promoted healthy eating in the Nursery amongst many other things. We also make sure every class receives a special present at Christmas.
The Friends of Dover Road are entirely dependant upon the continuing help of parents/carers. Without this help we would be unable to carry on providing those little extras that make all the difference to our children. Please email us and we will keep you informed of events. Our email address is -
